Mack Announces 2008 Distributors of the Year
LEHIGH VALLEY, PA (April 6, 2009) – Mack Trucks, Inc. named East Texas Mack Sales, LLC, Longview, Texas, the 2008 North American Distributor of the Year. Each year, Mack acknowledges the efforts and contributions of its dealer network by honoring high-performing distributors in its North American and International business units.
Selection criteria include sales, facilities, personnel, service, parts, general management, customer satisfaction and community service.
“Mack’s network of distributors is today as strong as it has ever been, and because of this, our distributors are a source of strength for our customers in these difficult economic times,” said Kevin Flaherty, Mack senior vice president, U.S. and Canada. “The businesses Mack honors with these awards are the best of the breed when it comes to making the customer the foundation of our business.”
2008 marks the first time Mack has named a distributor of the year for all of North America. Bill Bankston is East Texas Mack’s dealer principal. East Texas Mack was founded in 1976, currently has 65 employees and has an emphasis on construction and off-road applications.
Mack also named 2008 winners for each of its U.S. regional sales divisions:
• Northeast Region: Beam Mack Sales & Service, Inc., Rochester, NY
• Southeast Region: Worldwide Equipment, Prestonburg, KY
• Central Region: Indiana Truck Sales & Service, Inc., Indianapolis
• Southwest Region: East Texas Mack Sales, LLC, Longview, Texas
• Western Region: TEC of Southern California, La Mirada, CA
In addition, Redhead Equipment, Ltd., Regina, Saskatchewan, was Mack Canada Distributor of the Year.
RDO Truck Center, Fargo, ND, was named National Used Truck Distributor of the Year award, while the Mack Leasing System National Distributor of the Year award went to Tri-State Leasing, Memphis, TN; Tri-State was also the MLS Southeast Region distributor of the year while Conway Beam Leasing, East Syracuse, NY was the Northeast Region leasing distributor of the year.
For the second time in three years, Maquinarias y Camiones S.A. (MACASA) of Guayaquil, Ecuador, was named International Distributor of the year. Mack products are sold in more than 45 countries around the world. MACASA is one of Ecuador’s oldest and most prestigious private importers, and has represented Mack for more than 30 years. The company has 15 locations throughout Ecuador.
From 2007-2008, MACASA has strengthened its market share to capture more than 20 percent of the Class 8 market in Ecuador. During this time it has also opened a training facility to educate technicians from underdeveloped areas of the country. Luis Fernando Gomez is the dealer principal of MACASA.
