Mack Donates Mack® Granite® Model to 11th Annual Concrete Industry Management Auction
LAS VEGAS (Feb. 2, 2016) – Mack Trucks donated a 2016 Mack® Granite® Axle Forward model to the 11th annual Concrete Industry Management (CIM) Auction Feb. 3 during World of Concrete 2016 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The Granite model, which is mounted with an 11 cubic-yard Bridgemaster mixer donated by McNeilus, will be the signature item up for bid during the live portion of the CIM Auction. All proceeds from the auction will go toward developing and supporting CIM’s educational programs.
The CIM program was developed to equip students with the enhanced technical, communication and management skills needed to succeed in the concrete industry of the 21st century. Originally offered at Middle Tennessee State University, the four-year degree program is now offered at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, California State University – Chico and Texas State University.
“As the construction truck market leader, we at Mack know what it takes to succeed in today’s competitive marketplace,” said Curtis Dorwart, Mack vocational products marketing manager. “CIM is teaching those same skills to the next generation of concrete industry professionals, and we couldn’t be more proud to support their efforts with the donation of a Granite model.”
Built on Mack’s proven Cornerstone™ chassis, the donated Mack Granite model is powered by a Mack MP7® engine delivering 365 horsepower. The Granite model is also equipped with Mack front and rear axles, as well as Mack GuardDog® Connect, a telematics solution that helps maximizes uptime by proactively monitoring diagnostic codes that could shut a truck down. When a potential issue is detected, GuardDog Connect automatically notifies Mack OneCall™, a 24/7 customer support team, the customer and the customer’s pre-selected dealer to enable faster repairs, all while the truck remains on the job.
“We thank Mack Trucks and McNeilus for once again stepping up to the plate in their support of CIM,” said Michael Philipps, CIM Auction Committee chairman. “As the feature item, the donated truck chassis and mixer will go a long way to help ensure a successful auction and enable us to continue to develop our educational efforts.”
Members of the concrete industry generously donated over 150 items last year for both the silent and live auctions, raising more than $800,000 for CIM. Mack has participated in the CIM Auction with a truck donation for several years, most recently in 2015.
