ALLENTOWN, PA (Nov. 14, 2018) – Discover Lehigh Valley, an organization promoting tourism in the Lehigh Valley, recently awarded Mack Trucks its Zenith Award for making a significant economic impact on the region. Mack won the award for conducting the press and dealer launch of the Mack Anthem® model, its newest highway truck, at the PPL Center in Allentown.

“The Mack event brought the highest number of attendees and the largest economic impact for the region,” said Mike Stershic, president of Discover Lehigh Valley. “We appreciate an organization with strong local ties selecting the Lehigh Valley as a hub for an event as significant as this.”

Discover Lehigh Valley’s Zenith Award is presented to the organization responsible for bringing a meeting to the Lehigh Valley that has either the largest economic impact or the largest number of attendees. Mack hosted about 750 people at its Anthem launch event in 2017.

The Zenith Award was presented to Mack during Discover Lehigh Valley’s annual meeting Tuesday, Nov. 13. The annual meeting highlighted last year’s accomplishments, as well as the recipients of three awards: the Zenith, Tourism and Partnership awards.

“We are honored that Discover Lehigh Valley chose Mack to receive the Zenith Award,” said John Walsh, vice president of marketing for Mack Trucks. “It was natural for Mack to have our event in Allentown, where we have so many employees and such a long history. Mack is proud that the Lehigh Valley is home to our Mack Customer Center, where Mack customers from all over the world visit to learn about the brand and our products, and home to Lehigh Valley Operations, where all Mack vehicles for North America and export are built.”
