The New Mack Anthem® Takes the Stage at the 2018 Mid-America Trucking Show

LOUISVILLE, KY (March 22, 2018) – The Mack Anthem® model today made its Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) debut in Louisville, Kentucky, stealing the show with its bold yet aerodynamic design and a host of driver-centric features to improve the bottom lines of highway customers.

“Since we launched the Mack Anthem model, we’ve had tremendous response from dealers and customers,” said Jonathan Randall, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Mack Trucks North America. “We’re confident that this new model, built for business, designed for drivers and supported by our industry-leading approach to Uptime management, will continue to draw over-the-road customers to Mack.”

The Mack Anthem’s hood, roof, chassis fairings, mirror covers, front bumper and air dam deliver significantly improved aerodynamics. This led to an improvement in fuel efficiency of up to 3 percent over the Mack Pinnacle® Axle Back, already one of the most fuel-efficient trucks on the road. But the overall look is still distinctively Mack – big, strong and bold.

The new Mack Anthem 70-inch sleeper offers full stand-up height, enabling even tall drivers to easily walk through the cab into the living environment without having to duck. It can be equipped with either a single or double bunk. Interior volume is 35 percent larger than previous models. Redesigned back wall and side cabinets provide up to 27 cubic feet of storage, the best in the industry.

In addition to the 70-inch Stand-Up Sleeper, the Mack Anthem model is also available in a Day Cab and an all-new 48-inch Flat Top Sleeper. All three configurations are on display in Mack booth No. 34105 at MATS.

The Mack Anthem is equipped with Mack’s highly proven, high-performing integrated powertrain, including a Mack MP® engine, Mack mDRIVE™ automated manual transmission and Mack® axles. Available exclusively on the Anthem, Mack’s MP®8 engine with turbo compounding captures lost energy and converts it into power, offering highway customers up to an 8.8 percent improvement in fuel economy over the Pinnacle Axle Back without sacrificing power.

All Anthem models come standard with Mack GuardDog® Connect, Mack’s telematics-based solution that proactively monitors a truck’s performance, detects potential issues before they become real ones and triggers the scheduling of repairs, all while the truck is still on the road.

Mack® Granite® and Mack Pinnacle™ models featuring new ergonomic interiors also made their debut at the Mid-America Trucking Show.
