Mack Trucks Continues Support of ATA Share the Road and Workforce Heroes Programs
Mack Donates All-New Mack Pioneer™ to Support Veteran Recruitment
CHARLOTTE, NC (Oct 19, 2026) – Mack Trucks today announced that it will continue its longstanding support of the American Trucking Associations’ (ATA) Share the Road and Workforce Heroes programs. The announcement was made during the ATA Management Conference & Exhibition (MCE), Oct. 17-20, at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
As part of its continued commitment to the trucking industry's safety and veteran workforce development efforts, Mack donated an all-new Mack Pioneer™ highway truck for use in the ATA Workforce Heroes program. In 2026, Mack's sponsorship of Share the Road enters its 26th consecutive year, while the company marks its ninth year supporting Workforce Heroes, a program dedicated to helping military veterans transition into successful careers in trucking.
“Mack is proud to continue supporting both Share the Road and the Workforce Heroes programs," said Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America. “For 26 consecutive years, Share the Road has helped educate motorists about safely sharing the road with commercial vehicles, while Workforce Heroes has connected military veterans with rewarding trucking career opportunities since 2018. We are honored to donate an all-new Mack Pioneer to help advance these important initiatives.”
The Mack Pioneer, Mack's most advanced highway truck, will serve as a traveling ambassador for the Workforce Heroes program, appearing at military installations, career fairs, industry events and community outreach activities across North America. By providing veterans with hands-on exposure to the latest trucking technology, the vehicle will help demonstrate the opportunities available in today's transportation industry.
ATA's Share the Road program is a public education initiative that promotes safe interaction between passenger vehicles and large commercial trucks. Through demonstrations, presentations and community outreach events, professional truck drivers educate motorists about truck blind spots, stopping distances and other important safety considerations.
Workforce Heroes was established by ATA to encourage military veterans to pursue careers in trucking and transportation. Through partnerships with trucking companies, outreach efforts and recruitment events, the program highlights how skills gained during military service can translate into successful civilian careers throughout the industry.
“Mack Trucks has long been a valued partner of the American Trucking Associations, and we are thrilled to continue our work together in support of two of our signature programs: Share the Road and Workforce Heroes,” said Greg Hodgen, ATA Chair, CEO of Groendyke Transport. “These programs create meaningful impact across our industry and our communities, and we are deeply grateful for Mack Trucks' unwavering commitment, partnership, and investment in their success."
