Mack Trucks Introduces CommandView, Helping to Improve Jobsite Safety and Increase Efficiency
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (March 3, 2026) – Mack Trucks today announced it will be offering Mack® CommandView, a new suite of advanced onboard technologies designed to help increase safety, boost operational efficiency and expand digital capability for fleet owners. Mack made the announcement at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2026, March 3-7, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.
CommandView, a fully integrated situational awareness system that reduces blind spots and helps to improve maneuverability in varied operating environments, will be available for order in the Mack® Granite® model in late 2027.
“Mack customers told us about the many challenges they face when on a jobsite, whether they’re blind spot issues or just maneuvering around other vehicles and objects,” said Nicole Portello, senior vice president and Chief Digital Officer of Mack Trucks. “Every job site comes with a different set of challenges. We listened to customer input, and we’re now delivering technology that helps improve safety and productivity through CommandView – setting the stage for what’s next in connected vehicle technology.”
The 360-degree-view camera system provides full coverage visibility around the truck, helping drivers navigate congested jobsites, tight urban corridors, and high-traffic loading areas with greater confidence and control. By stitching together multiple camera feeds into a single composite bird’s-eye view, the system significantly reduces blind spots created by high ground clearance, long hoods and vocational body configurations.
Angled side-view cameras, automatically activated by turn signals, deliver significantly enhanced lateral visibility during lane changes and turning reducing the risk of side-swipe incidents, contact with pedestrians or equipment and property damage.
Together, these intelligent camera systems improve situational awareness, support safer maneuvering in complex environments, lower accident-related costs, and reinforce Mack’s commitment to delivering safety as a core component of uptime and total cost of ownership.
Mack piloted CommandView with CRH, a Mack customer and a leading provider of building materials, in early 2025.
“Safety is the No. 1 priority at CRH,” said Sam Dougherty, fleet manager of the Mid-South Region’s Architectural Product Group. “When we want to innovate in safety, we want it to actually make a difference.
“We want impactful safety measures. Any tool that we can give our drivers to be more safe, that’s a win. Mack has been the vocational truck of choice. It’s more than just selling us a truck. We rely on them to keep our fleet going.”
CommandView also syncs with vehicle controls, adjusting camera perspectives based on gear selection to enable seamless forward, rear and lateral visibility. Auditory and visual warnings to alert the driver upon the detection of a person or object in certain close ranges are also available as an option with CommandView. Designed to hold up in harsh environments, the system layers sensor data onto live camera feeds to support drivers. The event-based video is triggered both automatically or manually and is cloudstored for fleet visibility and risk mitigation. Overload alerts and compliance supporting safeguards help protect equipment, extend component life and reduce unplanned maintenance events.
“Safety, uptime and predictability are central to the success of our customers’ businesses,” said Ashish Sadhu, Mack director of services. “CommandView supports our customers’ needs by pairing intelligent sensing with intuitive driver-centric design.”
To help fleets maximize payload and minimize cost, Mack CommandView’s onboard weighing system, compatible with all axle configurations, allows for precise, real-time load data. Operators can optimize payloads without risking weight noncompliance, and integrated navigation chooses the best route available. This can reduce fuel consumption, as a result of the reduced detours to CAT scales, while also increasing productivity.
CommandView transforms the truck into a connected productivity system by delivering real-time payload intelligence both in-cab and through roof-mounted LED indicators, enabling seamless coordination between the driver and loader operator to achieve optimal loading every cycle. Integrated truck-specific navigation ensures compliant, efficient routing, while automated digital job summaries capture cycle data, timestamps, and payload details to reduce administrative burden and eliminate billing leakage. Together, these capabilities improve safety, maximize revenue per load, and enhance operational predictability, moving beyond hardware to deliver measurable productivity and financial impact for vocational fleets.
