Your Mack, Your Way
Mack TruckBuilder allows you to configure your truck just the way you want it
Known for legendary dependability and reliability, Mack Trucks have been a natural choice for customers prioritizing a durable truck. Of course, while reliability may be the initial draw, Mack’s driver-friendly features spark a lifelong love affair with their trucks after slipping behind the wheel.
That’s why Mack has prioritized ways to ensure you can prioritize what’s important for you – via the ultimate customization tool. Knowing you have a job to do, Mack enables you to select the essentials.
Mack TruckBuilder is the truck maker’s vehicle configurator that allows you to customize your Mack Anthem or one of six other Mack truck models. The tool is easy to access at build.macktrucks.com.
James Cooke, director, digital and demand generation at Mack, was given the task of updating TruckBuilder. “It wasn’t nearly as robust as what we have now,” he says. He calls the new version TruckBuilder 2.0.
The tool walks you through the spec’ing process from start to finish. Once on the website, simply select your truck model. The page features a picture of the truck in a typical environment in which it would operate, although there is the option of a studio version of the truck and a 360-degree view.
Your first choice to make is in the body category. The default for the Anthem is the day cab, since that is the most popular configuration, but there are also sleeper options. Next, select the powertrain, which includes both engine and transmission options.
Moving on to the exterior, you’ll choose the color of your new truck. “They can choose from Mack-provided options or can go to custom color and input the HEX code if they know it or use the slider to pick the color they want,” Cooke explains. Once the color is selected, the truck image will be displayed in the chosen color so you can see exactly what your truck will look like.
You also can select trim packages, mirrors, and aero packages including customizing the aerodynamics on the truck. The configurator next flows to the interior where you’ll select the interior trim package from comfort, preferred, or elite, as well as options for the seats. If you picked a sleeper cab, you can also customize that as well. At this point, you can see a 360-degree view of the cab with the interior trim package you selected.
Axles and suspensions are the next items to be spec’d including axle figuration, brand of drive axle, and type of suspension. The chassis section is where you’ll select the truck’s wheelbase and wheels.
Mack places a premium on safety. In a safety section of the site, you’ll not only choose your safety package, you’ll also have options for add-ons like driver awareness support.
You’ll also want to take a look at connectivity options. Review Integrated Uptime, My Mack, Mack Connect, and more to customize connected solutions you’ll want down the road. The final section covers solutions and focuses on financing, service contracts and warranties.
You’re almost done! Review your truck specs, make any changes, and hit the submit button. You’ll be asked a few simple questions.
“TruckBuilder has become our number-one lead generator,” Cooke says. Dealers also can use TruckBuilder to pre-spec a truck to give a customer an idea of what their truck might look like.TruckBuilder gives potential customers ownership over the truck and allows for a better representation of the components and options they have selected for their truck,” Cooke says.
If you haven’t tried TruckBuilder yet, got to the websiteand let your imagination help you spec the truck of your dreams.
