Simplify truck insurance with Mack Financial Services

Less Volatility. More Control. Greater Peace of Mind.

A Range of product offerings deliver support while eliminating unpredictability and volatility

If you run trucks for a living, you know how unpredictable business feels right now. Every facet of the business, especially fuel and labor, are rising in cost. And insurance? That line item seems to move in only one direction. For a business that relies on keeping trucks on the road, having insurance isn’t enough. You must have insurance that’s right for you and for your business.

That is what makes Mack Financial Services’ insurance and waiver offerings worth talking about. At their core, they take some of the guesswork out of truck ownership. Designed to help owner-operators and fleets lock in costs, simplify the process and keep trucks working with less hassle when something goes wrong, Mack Financial Services’ programs are a practical extension of the same promise customers expect from Mack Trucks: support that works hard, stands up under pressure, and helps keep business moving.

It’s an important deliverable in today’s business climate, when everything from operating costs to inflation is putting pressure on the bottom line. Predictability becomes a real benefit and is a huge strength of these offerings. They are purpose-built to reduce volatility for customers they understand.

Avoiding the annual squeeze

For customers who finance through Mack Financial Services, one attractive product is the Equipment Protection Program, or EPP. It is a physical damage offering with a flat, fixed rate for up to 84 months. That may sound simple, but in today’s insurance market, it’s a big deal. Instead of bracing for annual renewals, rate changes and the usual back-and-forth, customers experience immediate stability. And when margins are tight and every truck earning capacity is critical, stability is a competitive advantage.

Even better, if a customer has a claim, that claim does not automatically mean a higher rate down the road. Anyone who has dealt with traditional insurance knows how unusual that is. It is one of those details that may not grab a headline, but it absolutely gets a customer’s attention, because it speaks directly to total cost of ownership and long-term peace of mind.

“We've been able to negotiate a national program so that owner operators and small fleets are able to access the type of pricing that larger fleets with more bargaining power are able to achieve,” says Trenholm Palmer, Director, Insurance Services and Solutions. “That product is not only flat and fixed, but if a customer has a claim their rate will not go up. That is a huge differentiator with our offering available to customers that finance through Mack Financial Services.”

Mack Financial Services also offers GAP Waiver, which helps cover the difference between what physical damage insurance pays and what may still be owed on a loan or lease after a total loss or unrecovered theft. There is also a Life Event Waiver, which can provide payment relief after certain covered events such as disability, CDL loss, accidental death or critical illness. For customers, that means the protection goes beyond the truck itself. It is also about protecting the business and the livelihood connected to that truck.

Palmer notes the investment in both EPP and GAP waiver is an incredibly smart investment, as GAP waiver cost works out to about a dollar per day, and the flat fixed rate on EPP is a meaningful cost savings. “There is subtle but massive value in that product,” Palmer says. “When you lock in that rate for that term, you are lowering your total cost of ownership.”

Mack meets the need

But what if you don’t finance through Mack? That’s okay – there’s a perfect program designed for that scenario, as well. The Rolling Asset Program extends similar physical damage protection to customers who are not financing through Mack Financial Services. It offers a flat, fixed rate for up to 72 months and can cover mixed fleets, including trucks from other OEMs. That flexibility is important, especially as new customers come into the Mack family and as more fleets operate a variety of equipment. It is another example of Mack meeting the needs of customers and giving them a smarter, simpler way to protect the assets that keep their operation rolling.

That mixed-fleet reality is part of what makes the program timely. A customer may be buying their first Mack because they were drawn in by a new model, or they may already have several Macks alongside other brands in the fleet. Either way, the Rolling Asset Program makes the experience easier.

That idea of making things easier comes up repeatedly. This is not meant to feel like a traditional insurance sale with applications, endless quoting and a lot of extra friction. For eligible customers, with EPP and GAP there is no application process. If they are approved for financing, they are already set to access the Equipment Protection Program. Billing is folded into their monthly loan or lease terms, and the overall experience is designed to be as light-touch as possible. Customers can spend less time dealing with paperwork and more time focused on what matters to them.

That streamlined experience also matters when a claim happens. No one enjoys dealing with repairs after an accident. It is stressful, time-consuming and disruptive even in the best-case scenario. Any process that helps make that experience smoother is an advantage. Mack’s insurance solutions are designed to work in step with the broader Mack repair ecosystem, helping customers navigate the process with less pain and, ideally, less downtime. For a brand built on uptime, durability and doing the job right, that connection matters.

“The program offers a very positive customer experience, particularly for customers bringing their Macks into branded repair facilities,” says Wesley Brock, Manager, Insurance Sales. “For customers looking at the accident from a back office mindset, having a centralized approach with the OEM parts in one place, and removing steps from the process makes it less painful and gets the truck on the road more quickly.”

The programs line up naturally with what Mack customers already value: dependability, toughness, simplicity and getting real value for the money. This is not about flashy language or overcomplicating the sale. It is about offering practical protection in a way that feels straightforward and useful. Customers want to know what they are getting, what it will cost and whether it will make life easier. These programs answer those questions well, and they do it in a way that feels true to the Mack brand.

That may be the real differentiator. Beyond the product details, the bigger story is ease of doing business. Mack Financial Services has built these offerings around the customer experience, from enrollment to billing to claims support. “It’s our secret sauce,” Brock says. “We do business in a consultative way that is with compassion and understanding that you’re not just protecting an investment, you’re protecting your livelihood.”
