Emission Recall
Mack has a pending emissions related recall for 2014-16MY 11L and 13L vehicles. This recall will entail an engine software update only (no hardware) and will be introduced in the 2027CY. All updated vehicles will have an extended warranty that covers all parts and labor required to repair specified emissions-related components for 3 years after the software is installed, with no mileage limitation. Covered components include:
- NOx sensors (including engine out and system out)
- Exhaust temperature sensors
- Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system, including:
- DEF injector
- DEF injector controller
- DEF storage tank
- DEF delivery lines
- DEF quality sensor
- DEF supply module pump, and temperature sensor unit
This warranty also covers the cost of OBD diagnostic scans whenever the malfunction indicator light (MIL) is illuminated, regardless of whether the issue involves a covered component.
Mack may exclude a covered part from the extended warranty if that part is causing the MIL to be illuminated at the time the vehicle is presented for the software installation.
