Mack’s connectivity suite gets productivity boost
Auto-updates, customization options added to OTA platform

Mack Trucks has launched two new features to their connectivity suite designed to deliver customization and control to customers, at no additional cost.

AutoSend

AutoSend updates, automatic updates delivered via Mack’s over-the-air update platform enables changes and customization via the customer’s own settings through Mack Connect. Nicole Portello, Mack’s senior vice president and chief digital officer, compared the experience to receiving updates on your phone. Notifications that an update is available and ready for installation are made via the Driver-Display Activation, and the update remains available for 28 days.

Customers can opt out of AutoSend, but according to Mack, fewer than 100 have chosen to do so. Portello says that trucks operating on the current software, which has more than 73,000 active subscribers, have 22% less unplanned downtime.

“With AutoSend and Self-Service Parameter Updates, we’re giving customers unprecedented control over their vehicles’ performance while ensuring they have immediate access to critical software improvements.”

Self-Serve

Mack will also allow users to change create truck-specific profiles and change parameters in the Mack Connect Portal to enable settings changes without requiring a visit to a dealership or assistance from the Mack Uptime Center.

"These enhanced connected vehicle capabilities demonstrate Mack’s ongoing commitment to providing insights and support that help our customers perform at their best," says Mack President Jonathan Randall. "By automating and simplifying the software update process, we’re helping customers maximize their return on investment and better serve their own customers, while reducing the administrative burden of fleet management."

Randall says the advancements represent the company's latest steps in streamlining fleet management. The launches were made at an event defining 2025 as a landmark year for Mack, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary.

AutoSend will become standard in the first quarter and Self-Serve will be available in the second quarter of 2025.
