Maximum power.
Minimum weight.

The Mack MP®7 engine offers an exceptional power-to-weight ratio to boost your bottom line. Powerful and lightweight, it helps maximize payloads in weight-sensitive applications like bulk hauling and keeps route times down in refuse.

Efficient integration

As part of Mack’s legendary integrated powertrain, our MP
engines work seamlessly with Mack axles and transmissions for improved efficiency, increased uptime, and lower operating
costs over the lifetime of your truck.

Intake throttle

MP Series engines are equipped with intake throttles that improve heat management. They help increase the exhaust gas temperature at idle and low load, increasing the efficiency of the

Turbo compounding

MP engines feature a turbine to extract energy from exhaust that would otherwise be lost as heat. By converting exhaust energy into additional torque on the crankshaft, it improves efficiency and reduces emissions.

Two-speed coolant pump

The two-speed coolant pump reduces parasitic loss by delivering
the right amount of cooling capacity when maximum cooling isn’t required, for an extra 0.5 to 0.6 percent in fuel economy.

Key Features & Benefits

Wave piston

The waves in the piston bowl redirect flames in the combustion chamber to utilize all available oxygen for a cleaner and more complete burn than standard diesel pistons.

  • Standard piston combustion efficiency
  • Mack® Wave piston combustion efficiency

Common rail fuel system

This direct injection system delivers ultra-precise control over fuel injection pressure, timing and volume. The result is more power and efficiency, with less engine noise. Save fuel, gain power and lower emissions.

ClearTech™ One

This next-generation single box exhaust aftertreatment systems combine Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) to deliver near-zero emissions and low maintenance in a lighter, more compact unit.

A turbo for all speeds

Mack's electronically controlled Variable Geometry Turbocharger incorporates the latest technology to control turbo boost at all RPM ranges and engine loads, so you can have power and efficiency at any speed.
